I suspect that you are correct that ASS subs don't provide any way automatically do right/left/center justification for text. None of the controls on Aegisub's Style Editor window affect the left/right justification of text (the alignment of the lines of text relative to each other). For example, the "3" button places the text in the bottom right corner of the screen, the "2" button centers the text at the bottom of the screen and the "1" button places the text in the bottom left corner of the screen.
